Originally but a single room where a scribe was employed to keep alive the knowledge and heraldry of the local Nobility and to supply coats of arms to those who gain title or prestige within the City it was upgraded to become more opulent and actively attract members of the Nobility inside to where the Mennihaft can make them feel more welcome. Prominently featuring the arms of the local Houses it included a set of rooms where the Mennihaft could work without all that hanging around a draughty tower in the Citadel like some damned scribe!
Over time with its enlargements it was primarily aimed at visiting members of the Nobility such that they are always assured of a place to stay and where they can encounter the local Nobility and/or be looked after by the city such that they are less likely to get embarrassingly mugged or even murdered.
Eventually, as is often the case with such things the original Heraldic court was levelled to make way for a more imperious structure. Grandiose, exquisitely made and guaranteed to attract the Nobility from far and wide, once within they could be entertained in the manner that many believe themselves to be worthy of but which few are able to afford.
In Orgrus IM1014 King Troy The Faceless finally was able to complete the improvements to Deci's Heraldic Court and construct the Heraldic Entire. It had long been a point of contention between he and his Vizier, Sire Halfblack, that it had not been previously constructed there, the King having, on his Vizier’s advice, planned to delay building the Entire for a few weeks. However in those few days delay in Jurrle IM 1006 the Entire was raised in Eartholme, preventing its construction elsewhere, except of course that which would always furnish the Nobles of Halgar. It was noted whenever the King wished to score points in any argument with his advisor the mere mention of The Entire was sufficient to ensure his silence on most matters. With the loss of Eartholme, or at least the upper quarter, to goblin invasion in IM 1014, His Majesty felt, purely for the good of the Empire of course and the safety of the now unemployed servants, that the Heraldic Entire and its staff be relocated to Hightown...
The Entire is the pinnacle of the Heraldic Courts and both, that in Deci and that previously raised in Halgar by Count Synovius, are a great resource for the Mennihaft to entertain Nobles from across the Empire, to impress and treat them to the best and luxuries that they might not themselves be able to afford and is a fine place to bend the ear of those one might wish to influence on an upcoming tithe.
The Heraldic Entire is smaller than one might consider likely, being only the size of as common Guildhall but so well made as to reflect the very best the Empire has to offer. It is a place of celebration of the Nobility and provides various suites of rooms that bear the arms of one Great House or another.
Within gather the best of servants and culinary craftsmen. It provides a place for the both the visiting Nobility to stay in comfort where certain retainers may be found for them whilst there, and of course for the resident Lords to plot.
The Entire provides a seemingly endless supply of tutors to the local Nobility and the best of those seeking Noble patronage gather in these halls that they might be found by the august Blood and any local noble seeking skilled retainers could hardly do better than to start in the Entire.
Naturally, even when the Nobility are absent their factors and/or vassal Houses are able to use their suites to continue The Great Game and the Entire encourages more visiting Nobility to be more susceptible to the resident Houses.
