The major places of worship found in Deci and sponsored by the city are as follows:
Shrine: A Shrine is a simple building converted to act as a focus for religion of whatever form, which is often little more than a grove or a single room, is used for meetings of the faith and acts as an initial focus for a Faith within a City.
The nature of Deci is such that faiths of light do not do well in the city but the simplest of temples, Shrines, can be found to some of the more passive forces of light although such survive the evils of Deci by being well away from its dark heart and the dark forces forces jealous of their power by nestling in the relative safety of Forgetown.
Shrine of the Forge, there are five of these scattered across the rural lands at the large of the territories mines.
Dead Heroes (Longdon's Farm, rural)
Laughing God (One in Hightown and a second in Cheapside)
Moradin (Forgetown, rural)
Shaehan (Forgetown, rural)
Tsu-Ling (Forgetown, rural)
Temple: A Temple is the first real firm place of worship in a City. Unlike a shrine a Temple is a purpose-built place of worship. Whether a structure of stone or a sheltered place decorated by the rarest of shells a Temple takes maintenance and care to ensure its beneficial presence to the faith within the City.
Geldonvol, God of Trade (Hightown)
Servants of Evil (Hightown)
Spider Queen (Hightown)
The Forge (The Slurries)
Lords Majius (Hightown)
Nature (Longdon's farm, rural)
Winter (Longdon's farm, rural)
Grand Temple: The pinnacle of the common shrines, a Faith can erect Grand Temples throughout the land and these impressive buildings are centres for the Church in places where Hallowed Temples and Cathedrals are not to be found. As large as an early Guildhall it is impossible to describe a grand Temple more fully as they vary so greatly from Church to Church.
Slavik (Hightown) That this Grand Temple currently exists in Deci to the Ratgod is somewhat odd given the fact that the rats were driven out of the city by the serpents that serve the Black Mana Dragon...
Hallowed Temple: An impressive structure, the Hallowed Temple builds and expands upon the glory of its predecessor to form a focus for the faith on Primus. If the faith’s cathedral seems to contain the very presence of its god then the Hallowed Temples seem to echo softly to the songs/screams/mysteries of the faith itself. There can only be two Hallowed Temple’s to a given faith in the Empire, and one more in each other nation to which the Faith is spread.
The hallowed Temples that currently exist in Deci are as follows:
Hallowed Temple to the Tribal Totems, built in IM 1006 by Slinkin' Thru of the Lo-Thi (Hightown)
Jander's Hallowed Forge, to The Forge, built in IM 1007 by Jander (Forgetown)
Twilight Hallowed Hollow, to Draakon Arcaardis, the Grey Mana Dragon built in IM 1008 by Twirl, The King's Wizard (Hightown)
Hallowed Hag, to Nanny Hag, built in IM 1012 by Anath (Hightown)
Cathedral: The ultimate centre of any Faith upon primus. There may be only one Cathedral to a faith and only one Cathedral in any city. Towering over even the much simpler Hallowed Temples, Cathedrals are large, grandiose structures often possessed of a great dome or spire and whose very presence dominates a city, assuring it to be ever viewed as the more revered of any local cult. Even the arts of the Guilds are tested by the Cathedral and it takes them an entire season to built such a structure, even with the benefits of their rites and faith.
The Cathedral in Deci is the The Horned Serpent, that to Draakon Vacuous, the Black Mana Dragon, built in IM 1006 by Anath Halfblack (North Quarter)
It is worth noting that despite the lack of Temples or even Shrines in the city all the Draconic Faiths, with the exception of Draakon Photis (The White Mana Dragon) are present to a lesser degree in Deci without the support of Shrine or Temples but supported by the natural curiosity of the people in the arcane due to the King's Bazaar and some of the shops within that sell artefacts and wonders of the Dragons.
