Late in IM1007, following certain investments by one of Decis more notorious merchants, a simple rural village was developed into a market town. Such places vary widely amongst the various territories of the Empires cities but this market town was deliberately set apart from the city of Deci itself and not only provides a place where the rural folk can gather in a market town but also where traders from beyond the Deci territories can bring their wares without having to fight their way out again or get robbed of what is often valuable therein.
Established east of Deci close to the River Spittle, to which it is linked by a Trade Canal, Forgetown quickly gained a reputation as the place to go if one wants to trade with Deci but is rather concerned about all the getting murdered that tends to plague an otherwise lovely visit to the historical city. In Forgetown at least goods can be traded and deals done in some relative safety. Forge Town attracts people to it, indeed many of whom that had in the past fled the city and have found it hard going in the wilds amongst the rocky ground and the sparse woodlands.
Within the basic Fortifications of what were once just simple earthern palisades, the growing town stands the Hallowed Temple of The Forge, from which the town takes its name, and The Forges own personal workshops and smithy take up an entire street, the fledgeling towns high street in fact.
As well as the various buildings along the high street are clustered lots of tents in a bewildering array of styles and sizes. Oxen stabled inside the basic fortifications. Carts are often drawn up so that many make up one side of the tents.
Where buildings run down the street they are joined together by riveted tin sheets that have now replaced the original wooden boards to make walkways and Forgetown is ever busy with the hustle and bustle of Traders, carters, travellers and even sometimes pilgrims coming to pay homage to Jander.
As time has passed this town has taken on a very frontier feel and look, being a place of tough men always ready with their fists to defend their goods or their claim or just because sometimes a good old punch up in the Cart and Hammer tavern is a fun way to spend time and make new friends.
