Traders do not like Guilds and are widely said to not approve of them. There are in fact a number of cities that have such a capacity (or the potential thereof at least) but there will always be these, most of such in fact, that will avoid such an organisation. Cities realise this of course and often provide Gathers for their traders for only an idiot would not know the benefits of trade and then hardy men that promote it. The Gather now is provided with wide corrals as well as a yet large, Guildhall sized structure where they can in the case of the former unload their beasts and in the case of the latter can drink their ale. Such ale of course the city won’t for a minute allow them to dig into their treasure for. That would be rude.
The Gather in Deci now comes to take up a notable portion of the Invisible Quarter, that itself is so dedicated to the traders both large and small. Many houses, storehouses and even business are bought up by the city and form an enclave, the Tempter’s Gather, where the worthy fellows with the goods and their scarred winks are pretty much allowed to get on with what they wish. Though in the city it descends from the Foregtown influence that Anath lead on like a piper to rats to the city once more and with them came The Trader Prince.
The Trader Prince is not one man, apparently, but rather a mythical figure to whom the Traders pay homage as others might to their god. It’s all done in a rather mocking way and certainly without prayer, genuflection or shrines, but they like to think they are at least joining in with everyone else. Certainly they get to shift all sorts of accusations and decisions to the figure, and at festivals – even in the Guild chambers at times, a figure appears in the same big-nosed and widely grinning mask. Though it has to be said the physical appearance otherwise can vary quite widely. Nonetheless, Anath with his rather better insight in such things is somewhat of the opinion that if someone says there is a Trader Prince then sure as grulls are grulls, there probably will be sooner of later...
